However, the recent best way I’ve found to market myself and my business is through LinkedIn – it’s an amazing free way to get yourself and your business in front of 65 million business / professional people BUT you need to set yourself up correctly. For my colleagues, I’ve created a free ecourse to do this at http://www.inspectaweb.com – just go ahead and sign up. What I really like about this method of marketing is you don’t need to go through permission based list building! However, like with anything you do on the internet you need to take action and stick with it.

It’s been shown that there are only two types of ‘readers’ – the one who reads every word and the ‘scanner’. In today’s busy world the ‘scanner’ is more popular. In this case, the headline, benefit bullet points and PS (summary) are crucial to attracting the reader to read more and stay on your site longer … and hopefully buy!

What I use is a free desktop program from Stompernet to see exactly how the eye sees your web page. You can download it here: http://about.stompernet.com/scrutinizer/.
